Coach
What is a Coach?
A coach is an expert in a particular subject matter that will lend his/her skills to teach a specific portion of the INCubator curriculum. After working with a classroom instructor to prepare the lesson, the coach will teach in the classroom for the length of the module. Modules typically range from two to five days in length. Each instructional day, coaches will teach the lesson to three INCubator classes. These class periods (6th,7th, and 8th) run from about 11:30 pm - 2 pm.
No teaching experience is necessary, but coaches should have an engaging personality and be passionate about their area of expertise. We are looking for volunteers that are excited to work with students and share their knowledge with these students. Coaches should have corporate or entrepreneurial experience.

Preparing to be a Coach
- Complete the Business INCubator Volunteer Application.
- The application will be reviewed by the NNHS INCubator Team.
- The NNHS INCubator Team will match coaches from the volunteer pool with the course modules. First semester module coaches will be matched by August and second semester module coaches will be matched by December.
- In early August (early December for second semester modules), coaches will be notified of their module topic and an approximate date of this coaching assignment.
- In the meantime coaches should (1) complete the volunteer form and send it to Nick Pahl; (2) fill out the Coach/Mentor Bio Form; and (3) familiarize themselves with the Lean Startup methodology by reading Running Lean by Ash Maurya.
- In the weeks leading up to a coaching assignment, an instructor will send the module lesson plan to the coach. The coach will then prepare, enhance, personalize, and practice the lesson, meeting with an instructor throughout for guidance.
